A Romantic Part-One Wedding in Tyrone: Karren & Niall

A magical 'Little Big Day' in the Creagán Bog!

If you've ever thought planning a two-part wedding has to mean sacrificing on style, you'd better think again. Karren and Niall are here to prove otherwise! Their real wedding by Inbetween Days Photography is a dream from start to finish. The Tyrone countryside was the perfect location to celebrate part one of their wedding, with part two happening in the Philippines when it's safe to travel again. They tied the knot just outside Omagh and celebrated with a lively reception at An Creagán! Modern, romantic, and stylish to the nines, their wedding is full of gorgeous inspiration for any couples planning a similar celebration. And, of course, we've got all the heart eyes for Karren's jumpsuit!

Bride Karren hails from the Philippines but was raised in Ireland met Irish Groom Niall when they were both students and worked part-time at Asda! Niall fills us in, "I was but a lowly greengrocer and she was one of the hot George at Asda girls. It wasn’t until 2 or 3 years later at university in Liverpool that we actually properly met and then started dating, though there were fleeting encounters in between where she would flirt with me, despite having a boyfriend! But, the fleeting encounter I remember best, and the one that brought us here, was when I came back to Belfast from Leeds one weekend for a concert and she was at my friend’s house when I arrived. I was wearing a pair of green and gold coloured trainers, that caught her eye, so she proceeded to tell me gold was her favourite colour. Fast forward to when we met again in Liverpool a year or so later at friend’s house party, luckily for me, my brain had stored this piece of information, so I was able to impress her by remembering what her favourite colour was. However sadly for me, Karren was again dating someone at the time, and so I didn’t ask for her number that night."

"No, instead I let her call her Blackberry from my phone, when she lost it down the back of the sofa, so that I could sneakily save her number for another time. Yes, it wasn’t all chivalry and romance. It was a couple of weeks later, before I had the courage to text her. To which she replied, “Who’s this and how’d you get my number?” Not wanting to sound like a stalker, I was shall we say, liberal with the truth, but in the end, it worked out as we had our first date a few weeks later when she visited me in Leeds from Liverpool. We spent 2 years travelling between these two cities to see each other. After university, Karren and I moved down to London together and the rest was history!"

The proposal happened in 2017 while the couple were on a romantic trip to Venice. Karren reminisces, "He planned the whole trip and had arranged for us to go up to the rooftop at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, where we were staying at the time. We had been out and about all day and he wanted to finish off the day with a nice cold drink whilst checking out the Venetian sunset. Niall was taking a while to finish his drink, which made me think I was probably enjoying mine too much and need to slow down. I had noticed Niall getting a bit fidgety and was asking strange questions like, 'I wonder how many people are on that cruise ship?' and such. I checked out the cruise ship in the horizon, when I turned around the whole rooftop was empty, and Niall was down on his knee with a massive grin on his face!"

It's safe to say that we're besotted with Karren's statement bridal look, which comprises an epic jumpsuit - a clever find from ASOS bridal - gold and pearl earrings by Ruby Jack London and shimmery white block heels also from ASOS bridal.

Niall and looked equally dapper in his green wool suit from Harry Brown.

Inbetween Days Photography created some truly breathtaking portraits for the couple - there are lots more in the gallery at the end of the post, so be sure to click through to see them all!

The bride chose a romantic bridal bouquet featuring blush pink, white and red roses, vibrant protea and lots of lush greenery!

As most of Karren's family live in the Philippines, the couple had initially planned to have their wedding there. However, as the pandemic put a hold on their travel plans, they decided on a two-part wedding, starting with an Irish celebration. "From the very beginning, our priorities had always been family and to celebrate our special day with them. We wanted to make sure that our guests (family) were looked after and that they enjoyed our day."

When it came to planning their Irish wedding day, the couple wanted to create a relaxed, rustic vibe for their guests and choose An Creagán as the perfect spot for their celebrations. "The venue is a Visitor Centre at the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains. The landscape is absolutely beautiful, and owners, Mark and Catriona, were very accommodating with our requests. The menu was to our taste and was very affordable. All in all the venue gave off a great vibe!"

Yes, that is the priest confetti bombing the newlyweds!

Karren's advice for engaged couples is to trust that you will have the best day ever! "Enjoy and let go," she says. "It will all fall in to place in the end!"

Cheers to Karren & Niall's incredibly gorgeous big day! We have to shoot the couple a huge thank you for sharing their wedding with us, and to Inbetween Days Photography for providing the beautiful imagery! Be sure to check out the rest of the photographs in the gallery below.
