Saying, “Hay’s done” is quick and easy. Growing, cutting, raking, baling, and hauling hay takes a lot longer. So do any mechanical repairs. Even with equipment, it’s a lot of hard work. Keith’s family has being doing it for generations. This year, hay was finished in the first week of August. Several folks pitched in to make this possible. And the weather cooperated, unlike last year. Hauling hay in 75 degree temps, under a blue sky, and with a cool breeze is pleasant. Hauling hay when it’s 20-30 below is… challenging. Every day until next June, each of us will remain thankful the hay is done. However, come January and February, we’ll be especially grateful.
