FRIDAY FRONTIER: POST

K PIC 1 BARLEY DARTS

This is my post for this week.

K RAILROAD TIE FENCEPOST BARLEY DARTS

There are more, but they all look the same.

As you can see, Shae and I have been working on fencing.  We have added more pasture for the cows, horses, and pigs.  We’ve also been reseeding and using rotational grazing. It’s improving the quality of our pastures.  It looks quite promising.  The biggest step has been the rotational grazing for the pigs.  It’s amazing how well they are doing on a well- managed pasture.  We have happy pigs that can forage on various clovers, grasses, and alfalfa.

Meanwhile, I’ve been busy with extended hours at the highway department.  It doesn’t allow for much time to get things done around home.  At least, we have gotten all of the hay moved off the fields.  Now the days are getting shorter and the nights are a little cooler.   Fall is coming.  I’ve even noticed a few ash trees starting to change color.  These are a few reminders that I better get busy.  I still need to do those projects that were intended for last Spring and Summer.
